ASU OH&S Officer Position

The ASU Victorian Authorities and Services branch invites applications for the position of Occupational Health & Safety Support Officer based in our Melbourne office.

The role of this new position will be to:

Identify the needs, provide advice & assistance to ASU OH&S Representatives & ASU staff.;
Develop policy & information on OH&S issues;
Development, delivery and promotion of OH&S Training provided by the branch
Liaise with relevant external bodies linked to OH&S;
Undertake workplace inspections as required;
Co-ordinate OH&S campaigns;
Prepare OH&S articles for branch communications & publications.

Essential requirements are:

Demonstrated commitment to trade unionism;
A knowledge of trade union structures and procedures;
Sound knowledge of OH&S legislations, regulations and relevant codes of practices
Well developed interpersonal skills & experience in dealing with people;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
A current Victorian drivers license; and
Ability to apply various computer applications

A Certificate IV in OH&S and/or a Certificate IV in Workplace Training is preferred.
The remuneration package for this position will include a vehicle and will be negotiated with the successful applicant commensurate with skills, qualifications & experience.
