VTHC Country IR Cavalcade in Final Week

The Country IR Cavalcade has visited over 30 regional Victorian centres to connect to local communities and discuss the impact of the new industrial relations regime.
Unionists have had an overwhelmingly positive response from country Victorians. Members of the cavalcade have spoken to thousands of local people in most of the major rural centres across the entire state, and have given away more than fifteen thousand brochures detailing the impacts of the new IR laws.
They report an “overwhelmingly positive response” from people of all ages who have turned out to learn more about the changes to the industrial relations system.
Part of the success of the campaign has come from directly approaching rural communities and discussing local concerns about what is happening.
Pip Kelly, VTHC's representative on the convoy, says there have been many people around because of the approaching holiday season.
“There’s been an overwhelmingly positive response from people everywhere. I’ve been really inspired by how switched-on and aware people in rural Victoria are.”

The IR Country Cavalcade travels to Warnambool on Wednesday 14/12 before hitting Colac on Thursday 15/12 and Geelong on Friday 16/12.
