ACTU Worksite for Schools

Over 20,000 students visit ACTU Worksite for Schools website each month. Recent changes to IR laws have prompted students to ask more questions than ever before on workers’ rights and the role of unions and Worksite provides students’ with information on the wide world of work.

Worksite’s latest competition, Work – what’s your story?, asks students to share their ideas on work. Working students can tell Worksite what they found out at work or on work experience. Students who don’t have a job can write about a dream job or getting their first job.
Students can win:

  • Their work story recorded as a hip-hop Worksite podcast
    – for all to log on and listen to
  • One of four $25 runner-up prizes.

Other top entries and good ideas will be published on Worksite for all to see.

It’s a great opportunity to look at issues around starting work, being happy and safe on the job, workers’ rights and the role of unions. Students should forward their entries by Friday 23 June 2006.
Students can get an entry cover sheet and information at www.worksite.actu.asn.au.
