HACSU Industrial Organiser Position

UNION INDUSTRIAL ORGANISER

The Health and Community Services Union (HSU VIC No.2 branch) is an industry based Union representing employees in psychiatric, alcohol and drug and disability services.

The Union has a vacancy for a full time Organiser based in Melbourne. 

The duties include:
  • Organising and supporting and training of delegates in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement organising plans which includes membership recruitment and building union presence in the workplace.
  • Case managing workplace disputes including researching, conducting negotiations and advocacy before the Industrial Relations Commission and other forums.
  • Providing information and services to members.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, capable of working autonomously in a complex and demanding environment to analyse and resolve industrial conflict. You will have well developed research, communication, advocacy and written skills, the ability to organise and plan work, and be computer literate. 

The successful applicant should have a strong commitment to the Union movement, hold a current driving license and be able to undertake country travel and some out of hours work.

The Union offers an attractive salary package, which includes superannuation and the use of a motor vehicle.
