Senior Industrial and Campaigns Officer
Do you want to make a difference in the new industrial relations environment?

HACSU, the Health and Community Services Union (No 2 Branch of the Health Services Union) in Victoria is seeking a keen and motivated person to join our team.  HACSU represents workers working in Victoria’s mental health, intellectual disability and Drug and alcohol services.

Essential

  • Demonstrated commitment to the Trade Union movement.
  • Proven ability to strategically plan and manage industrial campaigns.
  • Has knowledge of the new legislative changes to the Workplace Relations Act.
  • Demonstrated skills to negotiate and achieve agreed outcomes for members.
  • Ability to work under pressure within a team and respond appropriately to various industry sector needs of members.
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in working in a campaign environment
  • Prepare submissions, reports and policy papers on issues affecting our membership
  • Represent the Branch before appropriate tribunals
  • Represent the Union on industry and government consultative bodies.
  • Well developed computer skills

Desirable

  • Current drivers license
  • Tertiary qualification in industrial relations, labour law or other relevant fields.
  • Experience in the Health and Community Services Industries would be an advantage.
