Date: Friday 8 September 2006
A delegation from the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions visited Trades Hall on the afternoon of Friday 8th September 2006. This is a newly formed peak union body and it’s the first time ever they’ve been out of the country. They were shown around the Trades Hall, briefed about the history of Australian and Victorian Unions and how the Trades Hall was formed, its functions, its relations to other affiliates, organising and campaigning.
This visit took up about an hour, with translating /interpreting and questions and answers.
The Chairperson of the Hong Kong delegation was Mr. Wong Kwok Kin. Officials from the ACTU accompanied the delegation during their visit.
