March Route - MCG to Federation Sqr
6.30AM – 9.30AM
The VTHC is reminding members of the public, not heading for the MCG for the National Day of Protest to avoid the Melbourne Cricket Ground precinct and nearby arterial roads.
“Tens of thousands of workers and supporters from the general community will be streaming into the MCG from all directions at this time.”
“Traffic will be affected. Vehicle users should allow for this in their travel plans.
“The VTHC is working with the Victoria Police to make the peak hour arrival phase for the MCG protest, occur as safely as possible.”
VTHC Secretary, Brian Boyd said today: “The MCG gates will be open from 7.00am in order to ‘Fill the “G”’ by 9.00am sharp, for a planned, nationally televised Sky Channel program highlighting the trade union movement’s ongoing and growing concerns about the draconian federal I.R. laws.”
