Position: CFMEU National Industrial Officer

CFMEU Forestry & Furnishing Products Division National Office

Overview:
The CFMEU Forestry & Furnishing Products Division National Office invites applications from experienced and skilled professionals, with a proven Industrial Relations background, for the position of National Industrial Officer.
The position offers the opportunity to link industrial work into the organising and campaigning strategies of this lively and dedicated Division of the CFMEU.
The position is based in Melbourne, but involves considerable interstate travel to service the organisation and its members nationally.
Job Description:
Reporting to the National Secretary the successful candidate will carry out the industrial functions of the National Office, including:
Management and conduct of all matters involving the CFMEU - FFPD Division in the AIRC
The provision of industrial advice to the Division and its state branches concerning industrial agreements and disputes, campaigns and federal employment legislation.
Representations on behalf of the CFMEU in a wide range of forums.
Negotiation of agreements and the development of model agreements on behalf of the organisation and its members.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Several years experience in a similar high-level National industrial relations position. A high level of initiative, ability to handle pressure, and the capacity to work within a small team or autonomously, as required.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate a passionate commitment to the union movement and to improving industrial and social justice
Desired:
Advanced Microsoft office, internet and research skills.
A relevant tertiary qualification would be highly regarded.
Salary:
A generous salary and conditions package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on experience.
