Trades Hall issues traffic alert for June 28
TRADE UNION I.R. PROTEST FOR TOMORROW
(WEDNESDAY 28TH JUNE 2006)
The VTHC is advising that a major rally, as part of the ACTU’s National Day of Protest will affect traffic movement in the Melbourne CBD area between 9.00am and 1.00pm, tomorrow.
Mr Brian Boyd, VTHC Secretary said today that “gatherings of protesters will start at four locations this time – Spring Street, Flinders Street, Spencer St and Victoria St from around 9.00am onwards and will affect traffic soon after throughout many parts of the centre of the city”.
“We are hoping to minimise how many people get caught up unnecessarily in our proceedings before the protest disperses around 12.30pm,” said Mr Boyd.
