VTHC CALLS COMMUNITY PROTEST OUTSIDE OPTUS HEADQUARTERS

The Victorian Trades Hall Council has called for solidarity action outside Optus Headquarters today in the form of a lunch-time rally:

12 noon
Today (Weds, 12 April)
367 Collins St
Melbourne
(Between Elizabeth and Queen Streets)

“What Optus have announced in relation to 70 members of their workforce is outrageous and a crude but expected use of John Howard’s new I.R. laws”, said VTHC Secretary Brian Boyd today.
“We know we are in for the long haul in relation to these laws and all workers need to be brave and steadfast as the employers flex their one-sided muscles in the current climate”, added Mr Boyd.
“Backing each other up will be more important than ever and that’s why we’ve called today's protest”, concluded Mr Boyd.
