VTHC Supports Re-election of Bracks Government on 25 November 2006
Recently the VTHC Executive Council passed a resolution to support the re-election of the Bracks ALP government in the next Victorian State Election.
Voting is on Saturday 25th November and the VTHC has just put up a big banner on the outside of the Melbourne Trades Hall, calling on Victorian voters to Vote 1 ALP. Victorian unions have had a pragmatic working relationship with the Bracks’ Labor Government since it came to power in 1999.
Since that time, and especially since the draconian so called federal WorkChoices laws came in, the relationship has produced some worthwhile outcomes. The Victorian Government’s position of total opposition to Howard’s IR laws are appreciated and welcome.
