VTHC Supports Union / Community Protest Outside Victorian Liberal Party Campaign Launch

Friday 10 November 2006
The VTHC Executive Council has called for a worker / community protest outside the Ted Baillieu / John Howard campaign launch Sunday 12th November 11.30am onwards, at the old Moorabbin Town Hall, adjacent to the Nepean Highway.
The VTHC Secretary, Brian Boyd said: “The Victorian Liberal Party has openly come out and supported the Federal Government’s draconian and extreme I.R. laws.
“Behind the scenes, in past weeks, some Victorian Liberal MP’s have tried to tell unions they are not ‘all the way’ with the WorkChoices laws.
“However, inviting John Howard to their campaign launch says it all… their true colours are for all to see”.
Mr Boyd added: “The Federal I.R laws are a Victorian issue and on the 25th November, Victorian voters should send a message to John Howard just as the American voters have to George W. Bush”.
