Media/Communications Officer - ASU Vic A&S Branch

The ASU Vic A&S Branch is seeking applicants for a permanent full time Media/Communications Officer

The successful applicant will work as part of a team with the following primary objectives:

1. To promote awareness of the ASU Vic Authorities & Services Branch within the community and provide relevant and up to date information to our membership.

2. To ensure that the range of Branch communications such as publications, newsletters and website are produced, published, coordinated and updated on a regular basis and that they are timely, informative, accurate and relevant to ASU members and prospective members.

The incumbent will be expected to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in English, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies or other relevant discipline (preferred but not essential)
  • Work experience in the areas of public relations or journalism, experience in the production of corporate documents and liaison with various media organisations
  • Experience with graphic software Adobe Creative Suite (PC)
  • A demonstrated commitment to trade unionism is required
  • A current valid driver’s licence
