VTHC Behind New ACTU Secretary - Jeff Lawrence
“I have known and worked with Jeff Lawrence over many years and find him a disciplined and dedicated trade unionist,” said Mr Boyd.
“The Howard government will make a big mistake if they underestimate Jeff,” Mr Boyd added.
Mr Boyd emphasised that the upcoming Federal election was a big challenge for the trade union movement.
“Anyone who thinks the next federal election result is in the bag is kidding themselves,” said Mr Boyd.
“We have a long way to go. We can not take anything for granted and I am confident Jeff Lawrence will maintain the very successful ‘Your Rights at Work’ Strategy of the ACTU as we go forward,” concluded Mr Boyd.
