Position vacant - MSAV Senior Industrial Officer

The Medical Scientists Association of Victoria is an autonomous component association of the Victoria No 4 Branch of the Health Services Union of Australia. The MSAV represents a range of science qualified health professionals in the public and private sectors in Victoria.

The MSAV is seeking to recruit a Senior Industrial Officer as part of a small, progressive industrial team.

The role includes advocacy, negotiating with employers and government, representing the Union in various forums, provision of strategic advice, mentoring of staff and deputising for the Executive Officer.

Tertiary qualifications are required and legal qualifications are desirable.

Substantial experience in a similar position is necessary. Knowledge of the health industry would be an advantage.

 

An attractive salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant, depending on qualifications and experience. Demonstrated commitment to the trade union movement is essential.
