Vietnamese Delegation Visits Melbourne Trades Hall

By Brian Boyd, VTHC Secretary
23 June 2008
Australia Asia Workers Links has been hosting a visit to Australia recently from the Vietnamese trade union movement.  On 23rd June, four comrades from the Vietnam's National Institute for Labour Protection visited Trades Hall and were greeted by the VTHC Secretary.  A number of VTHC affiliates have also had meetings with the Vietnamese delegation.
The delegation also had discussions with the VTHC OHS Unit.
It is important for the trade union movement to engage internationally.  Vietnam has a viable trade union movement and we can learn from them as much as they can learn from us.
The delegation was made up of:
Ms Nguyen Trinh Huong Deputy-Director of the Centre for Science, Environment and Sustainable, Development – National Institute for Labour Protection
Ms Do Thu Hanh Deputy-Head of the Planning and Scientific Management Department – National Institute for Labour Protection
Mr Nguyen Ngoc Quang Expert of the Centre for Scientific Information, Communication and Training – National Institute for Labour Protection
Ms Bui Thi Xuan Dai Expert of the Centre for Scientific Information, Communication and Training - National Institute for Labour Protection
