VTHC Staff and Friends participated in Anti-poverty week activity

On Friday 17th October, Trades Hall Staff, Anna Stewart Memorial participants and friends came together to stand against poverty.  This activity was organised as part of the anti-poverty week (12-18 October).  Please visit the following website for more details: www.antipovertyweek.org.au


Participants read in unison a pledge against poverty.

Anti-Poverty Week was established in Australia as an expansion of the UN's annual International Anti-Poverty Day on October 17.

The main aims of Anti-Poverty Week were to:

-strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship around the world and in Australia;

- encourage research, discussion and action to address these problems, including action by individuals, communities, organisations and governments.
