RESTORING TRADES HALL

THE HALL NEEDS OUR HELP

Victorian Trades Hall Council has had many additions and changes since its beginnings in the 1859, however, it remains the oldest continuously working Trades Hall building in the world. The building is classified by the National Trust and is included on the register of Historic Buildings (Victoria).

A completely restored Trades Hall will be a working asset for unions and the broader community.

Much has been done in recent years to renovate and restore the building, and from the outside Trades Hall looks to be in a good state of repair. However, looks can be deceiving: the Southern Hall, the old Council Chamber, ballrooms and first floor verandah are just a small sample of the many badly needed restoration works.

You can donate through Trades Hall's online portal, and your donation will be marked with the Restoration Appeal and forwarded to the Trades Hall and Literary Institute.

Alternatively, you can make an EFT payment directly to the THLI:
